There are two recalls for the Acura NSX. First, approximately 800 model-year 2017 NSX cars are being recalled due to brake light issues. The center high-mount brake light needs to be replaced as a short circuit may occur in these lights, causing a blown fuse and deactivation of all brake lights.

The second recall is for both model-year 2017 and 2018 versions of the NSX. Approximately 1,000 cars are being recalled for issues with the crossover pipe that connects the two separate fuel tanks. The crossover pipe may have been installed incorrectly which could result in a fuel leak over time. Both the left and right fuel tanks need to be replaced.

Acura will attempt to contact owners of the affected cars by phone to schedule repairs. All others will be notified by mail in early November. Owners can call the automaker at 844-682-2872 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the recall problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
