Approximately 1,330 model-year 2017-19 Toyota Camry sedans, Corolla sedans and hatchbacks, RAV4 SUVs, Sienna minivans and Yaris iA sedans equipped with factory-installed floor mats are being recalled due to incorrect label information. The load carrying capacity modification label may be incorrect, which could lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Toyota will begin notifying owners on Aug 27. Owners can call the automaker at 888-270-9371 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.
To fix the problem, Southeast Toyota Distributors will provide a corrected label for placement over the inaccurate one.
Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
