Mercedes-Benz is recalling approximately 4,700 model-year 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC300, GLC300 4Matic coupe and GLC350e 4Matic SUV’s, and Mercedes-AMG GLC43 and GLC43 4Matic coupe SUV’s equipped with LED headlights due to an issue with the front turn signals. The front turn signals may have an incorrect color of pink or violet, which may not be easily recognized by other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners on Nov. 9. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will inspect the color of the turn signal and replace the LED module if necessary.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
