Approximately 9,600 model-year 2019 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 heavy-duty pickup trucks in both single- and dual-wheel variants and 4×4 capability are being recalled due to front axle issues. A wheel end yoke may not have been properly welded to the axle tube end on the front axle which could affect the trucks’ steering behavior, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will begin notifying owners on Nov. 9. Owners can call the automaker at 800-392-3673 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will inspect the front axle wheel yoke weld and replace the axle assembly, as necessary.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
