Approximately 47,800 model-year 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid minivans are being recalled due to issues with the steering knuckle. The right-front lower control arm may separate from the steering knuckle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles began notifying owners on April 19. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403 or the National Highway Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will inspect the right-front knuckle and lower control arm and replace if necessary. Also, the right-front lower control arm knuckle pinch bolt will be replaced with a larger diameter pinch bolt.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
