Approximately 280 model-year 2018-20 Bentley Bentayga luxury SUVs equipped with third-row seats are being recalled due to seat belt issues. The third-row upper seat belt attachment may not stay connected to the vehicle in the event of a crash, resulting in the occupant not being properly restrained and increasing the risk of injury.
Bentley will begin notifying owners on April 27. Owners can call the automaker at 800-777-6923 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.
To remedy the issue, dealers will replace the third-row upper seat belt attachment bolt.
Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
