Ferrari is recalling certain model-year 2010-2015 458 Italia, 2012-2015 458 Spider, 2014-2015 458 Special, 2015 458 Speciale Aperta, 2016-2019 488 GTB and 488 Spider vehicles due to brake issues. The brake system may leak brake fluid, resulting in a loss of braking ability and increasing the risk of a crash.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 21, 2021. Owners may contact Ferrari customer service at 1-201-816-2668 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

A remedy is being developed and owners will receive an additional notification when it becomes available. If a Low Brake Fluid warning appears, owners are advised to contact Ferrari Roadside Assistance for towing to the nearest Ferrari dealer.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
