Most common Lamborghini warranty defects

For 2020–2026 Lamborghinis, the federal record is dominated by the Urus: repeated rearview-camera and infotainment software recalls, fuel-system leaks, and a hood latch that could let the hood open at speed. The Huracán adds transmission-oil and headlight-software campaigns, and the hybrid Revuelto collected four recalls in its first two model years. Software fixes that do not hold and parts-dependent repairs on low-volume cars are what turn these into repeat visits and long downtime—the facts a lemon law claim depends on.

Urus rearview camera and infotainment software failures

The Urus has been recalled more than once for a rear camera that will not display. Campaign 25V-903, the largest Lamborghini recall of the period, covers 2019–2024 Urus models in which a software error can deactivate the rearview camera image; dealers update the parking assist software (see our Urus camera recall summary). The campaign was filed in December 2025, but owner letters were not mailed until July 2026. Earlier, campaign 22V-804 covered some 2022 Urus models whose infotainment unit could be damaged, leaving the camera display inoperative; dealers replaced the unit. A camera or screen that fails again after the software update is a recurring defect in a federally required safety system, and every return visit belongs on a repair order.

Urus V8 fuel leaks and engine defects

The Urus’s twin-turbo V8 has been the subject of fuel and engine recalls across its life. Campaign 20V-713 covers 2019–2020 Urus models in which high engine-compartment temperatures can damage a fuel line quick connector and cause a leak; dealers replace the line and connector. Campaign 25V-633 covers some 2025 Urus models whose high-pressure fuel pump fasteners may not have been tightened properly; dealers inspect the joints and replace the pump and lines as needed (see our 2025 Urus fuel recall). A small 2021 campaign, 21V-336, called for engine replacement on Urus SUVs whose cylinder bore surfaces could crack. A fuel smell, an oil leak or an engine replacement on a car this new is serious, and repeat visits for it weigh heavily.

Urus Performante and Urus S hood latch striker

Campaign 24V-348 covers 2023–2024 Urus Performante and Urus S models in which the hood latch striker may separate and fail, so the hood could open or detach while driving and block the driver’s view. Dealers inspect and repair the hood and install a striker support plate if needed. Because the repair can involve the hood itself, it is worth checking the paint and fit afterward; one owner complaint filed with NHTSA about a 2023 Urus describes a replacement hood, handled by the dealer as what the owner calls a recall repair, that bubbled again within about a month. A hood that rattles, sits unevenly or triggers a hood-open warning after the remedy should go straight back to the dealer, and the visit should be written up as a continuing problem with the same component.

Huracán transmission oil, headlight software and display failures

The Huracán EVO, STO and later variants have drawn several campaigns. Campaign 22V-220 covers some 2020–2022 Huracán EVO and 2022 STO cars whose gearbox may have been filled with too little transmission oil, which can cause clutch slip and an oil leak; dealers correct the oil level. Campaign 23V-826 covers 2015–2024 Huracáns whose headlights may be incorrectly adjusted, and the remedy is a software update that deactivates the Tourist Mode and Adaptive Front-lighting System headlight functions. Campaign 24V-219 covers some 2024 Huracáns whose high beams may not turn on. An owner complaint filed with NHTSA describes a 2023 Huracán whose instrument cluster went black on the highway and was then quoted as a non-warranty repair. Disputed warranty coverage on an electrical failure is worth challenging in writing.

Revuelto first-year recalls: wipers, doors, oil lines and camera

The Revuelto, Lamborghini’s V12 plug-in hybrid, drew four recalls across its 2024 and 2025 model years. Campaign 24V-765 covers 2024 cars whose passenger wiper connecting rod can bend and separate from the motor, leaving the wipers inoperative. Campaign 24V-945 covers 2024 cars whose oil circuit flange screws may have been improperly tightened. Campaign 25V-477 covers 2024–2025 cars whose door gas springs can fail because of improperly assembled support pins, so the doors may close unexpectedly (see our Revuelto door recall). Campaign 26V-053 covers 2024–2025 cars whose rear camera may not display because of a software error. Four separate campaigns on a new car can mean many days at the dealer, and in states that count total days out of service, those days add up.

Signs your Lamborghini may be a lemon

  • A rear camera that keeps going blank. Your Urus or Revuelto camera fails again after the software recall, or the infotainment screen freezes or reboots.
  • Fuel or oil smells from a newer Urus. The car has been back for a fuel odor, oil leak or engine warning after recall work on the fuel system.
  • A hood that won’t stay right. Your Urus Performante or Urus S has returned for hood latch, fit or paint problems after the striker recall.
  • Gearbox slip or warnings on a Huracán. The transmission slips, leaks or throws warnings again after the oil-level correction or other gearbox repairs.
  • A new Revuelto or Temerario that lives at the dealer. One recall or hybrid-system fault follows another, and the car spends weeks out of service waiting for parts or software.

What Lamborghini’s warranty means for a claim

Lamborghini’s US new-vehicle warranty is three years with unlimited mileage. In October 2025 Lamborghini announced an expanded aftersales program: the Temerario, Revuelto and Urus SE come with five years of included scheduled maintenance, the high-voltage batteries in its hybrid models carry an eight-year standard warranty, and the Selezione Warranty Extension program lets owners extend coverage up to 10 years from first registration. Confirm in writing which of these terms apply to your specific car.

The three-year factory warranty is what most lemon law claims rest on, and the extension does not lengthen your state’s lemon law period. Many Lamborghini recall remedies are software updates—the Urus and Revuelto rear cameras, the Huracán headlights—so a fault that returns after an update is a repeat repair attempt. Recall timelines can be long: the 2019–2024 Urus camera campaign was filed in December 2025 and owners were notified in July 2026. With few dealers, your car may also be transported long distances for service. Keep every repair order, transport record and dealer message, and confirm each order lists your complaint, the mileage and the dates in and out.

A recall is not a claim

An open recall on your Lamborghini is not, by itself, a lemon law case — and a recall that has already been repaired does not mean you don’t have one. Recalls are safety campaigns run by the manufacturer; lemon law claims turn on how your specific vehicle has performed under warranty. What matters is the record: how many times you brought the vehicle in for the same problem, how many days it has spent out of service, and whether the defect substantially impairs its use, value, or safety while covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

A Lamborghini that has been back to the dealer repeatedly for one persistent issue can qualify with no recall on file, while a vehicle with three open recalls may not qualify at all if each was repaired on the first visit. Repair-attempt and days-out-of-service thresholds vary from state to state, so the same facts can play out differently depending on where you bought or registered the vehicle. Keep every repair order — the paper trail is the case.

Who handles your Lamborghini claim

Lemon Law Group Partners is a law firm dedicated to lemon law. Jason S. Hegedus founded it in 2012 after years as a defense attorney for a major automaker in Michigan, and he has litigated lemon law claims since the late 1990s. Frequently asked questions about Lamborghini lemon law claims

My Urus rear camera failed again after the recall update. What now?

Take it back and make sure the repair order states that the camera failed after the 25V-903 software update, with the date and mileage. A rear camera is a required safety system, so repeat failures carry weight. If the dealer cannot reproduce the fault, give them video showing the blank screen in reverse. Each visit for the same camera failure is another repair attempt, and the count matters more than whether the dealer ultimately found a fault code.

Does the 10-year Selezione warranty extension extend my lemon law protection?

No. State lemon laws are generally tied to the original manufacturer’s warranty and to a defined period after delivery, not to purchased extensions. Lamborghini’s Selezione Warranty Extension can pay for repairs for up to 10 years from first registration, and federal warranty law may apply if a covered defect cannot be fixed. For a lemon law claim, the repairs that matter most are the ones during the first years under the three-year factory warranty.

The Huracán headlight recall turned off features. Does that matter?

It can. The 23V-826 remedy is a software update that deactivates the Tourist Mode and Adaptive Front-lighting System headlight functions. If you bought the car partly for those features, losing them affects what you paid for. Whether that supports a claim depends on your state and the rest of the car’s history. Keep the recall notice and the repair order showing the change, and raise it alongside any other repeat repairs.

Is the Revuelto’s or Urus SE’s hybrid battery covered separately?

Lamborghini announced in 2025 an eight-year standard warranty on the high-voltage batteries in its hybrid models, which is longer than the three-year basic warranty. A battery or hybrid-system failure during that time is a warranty repair. For lemon law purposes, repeated hybrid-system failures in the early years are what count, so record every warning message with photos, and ask the dealer for the written battery warranty terms for your VIN.

My Lamborghini is titled to my company. Can I still bring a claim?

It depends on your state. Many exotic cars are bought through a business or LLC. Some lemon laws cover vehicles registered to a business, sometimes with limits on the number of vehicles the business owns; others cover only personal-use buyers. Federal warranty law may apply when a state’s lemon law does not. Gather the purchase contract, the registration and the repair orders so the ownership question can be answered quickly.

The dealer had to truck my car to another location. Do those days count?

In many states, days the car is out of your hands for a warranty repair count toward out-of-service totals, and that can include transport time when the dealer sends the car elsewhere for the work. Lamborghini’s dealer network is small, so this can happen. Keep the pickup and return dates, transport paperwork and any messages about where the car is and why. Ask that the repair order reflect the date the car left your possession.

Think your Lamborghini might be a lemon?
