Hyundai Motor America has issued a safety recall affecting approximately 42 vehicles. The recall was filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on July 30, 2026 under campaign number 26V493000.
The Defect
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2027 Genesis G80 vehicles. The ignition coil ground bolt may be loose, resulting in an engine misfire or stall while driving.
The Risk
An misfire or loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
The Remedy
Dealers will tighten the ignition coil ground bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 27, 2026. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Hyundai's number for this recall is 034G. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov July 31, 2026.
