Lucid Motors is recalling certain model-year 2022 Air vehicles due to a display screen issue. There may not be adequate clearance between the in-cabin display wiring harnesses and steering column components, which can result in rubbing and potential chafing of the wiring harnesses. Over time, the harnesses could fail, rendering the speedometer and other cluster displays inoperable, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 20, 2022. Owners may contact Lucid customer service at 888-995-8243 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and secure the wiring harness, as necessary.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
