Ford is recalling certain model-year 2021 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, and Medium Duty F-650 and F-750 trucks equipped with 6.7L diesel engines due to a fuel filter issue. A small void may be present in the top center of the vehicle’s underhood secondary fuel filter cap, which may progress to a pinhole over time, allowing fuel to leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire or injury.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 21, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will replace the primary and secondary fuel filters.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
