Volkswagen is recalling certain model-year 2021 Golf GTI, Jetta GLI, Jetta NF, Arteon FL, Tiguan LWB, 2022 Taos, Jetta PA, Tiguan PA, 2021-2022 Atlas Cross Sport, and Atlas FL vehicles. Due to an error in the manufacturing process of the eMMC memory module, the infotainment system may not display the rearview camera image, reducing the driver’s rear view and increasing the risk of a crash.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 16, 2022. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 800-893-5298 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will update the infotainment software.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
