Approximately 2,600 model-year 2020 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs are being recalled because the attachment brackets for the second-row driver-side head restraint may have been insufficiently welded to the seat frame and may not adequately restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Ford did not immediately announce an owner notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332 to learn more.
To fix the problem, dealers will inspect and replace the head restraint bracket.
Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
