Bentley is recalling 1,610 model-year 2020-2021 Continental GTC vehicles due to an air bag issue. A sharp edge on the air bag deflector bracket may cause the front seat air bags to tear during deployment. A torn air bag may not adequately protect an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 17, 2023. Owners may contact Bentley customer service at 800-777-6923 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To resolve the issue, dealers will remove any sharp edges on the air bag deflector bracket rivets.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
