Volvo is recalling approximately 85,500 model-year 2019-20 S60, S90, and S90L sedans; V60, V60 Cross Country, V90 and V90 Cross Country wagons; and XC60 and XC90 SUVs due to fuel pump issues. The low-pressure fuel pump could blow a fuse and fail, causing the vehicle to stall and increasing the risk of a crash.

Volvo will begin notifying owners on Aug 1. Owners can call the automaker at 800-458-1552 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To remedy the issue, dealers will replace the fuse.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
