Chrysler is recalling approximately 222,410 model-year 2019-2020 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, and Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 Chassis Cab vehicles equipped with Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engines due to a fuel pump issue. The High-Pressure Fuel Pump may fail, resulting in a sudden engine stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on January 1, 2022. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will replace the High-Pressure Fuel Pump, update the Powertrain Control Module software, and inspect and replace additional fuel system components, as necessary.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
