Approximately 183,000 model-year 2018-20 Toyota Tundra pickup trucks are being recalled for dim front turn signals. The lights were incorrectly wired during assembly, causing the bulbs to not illuminate as brightly as intended and increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota will begin notifying owners by mid-September. Owners can call the automaker at 888-270-9371 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will modify the wire harness connected to the front turn signal bulbs.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
