Approximately 136,000 model-year 2018-19 Acura NSX sports cars and model-year 2019 RDX SUVs, RLX and RLX Sport Hybrid sedans; model-year 2018-19 Honda Accord sedans, Civic cars, HR-V SUVs; model-year 2019 Fit hatchbacks; and model-year 2019-20 Insight hybrids are being recalled due to fuel pump issues. The fuel pumps may have defective parts that could cause the engine to stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Acura manufacturer Honda will begin notifying owners in late July. Owners can call the automaker at 888-234-2138 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
