Ford is recalling more than 277,000 model-year 2017-2020 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 trucks and Lincoln Continental sedans because of a problem with the 360-degree camera system. An anti-reflective coating on the camera lens may degrade over time which could result in a foggy or cloudy rearview camera image. The lack of a clear rearview camera image reduces the driver’s view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 12, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will replace the surround view camera.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
