Approximately 2,100 model-year 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta sports cars: model-year 2018-19 488 GTB sports cars, 488 Spider convertibles, GTC4 Lusso coupes, and 812 Superfast sports cars: and model-year 2019 488 Pista sports cars are being recalled due to issues with the fuel vapor separator. The fuel vapor separator may crack and allow fuel to leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

Ferrari began notifying owners on April 14. Owners can call the automaker at 201-816-2668 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will replace the fuel vapor separator.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
