Approximately 120 model-year 2016-19 Dodge Grand Caravan vans modified by Vantage Mobility International are being recalled because the fuel pump gasket may deteriorate, allowing fuel to leak, which in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Vantage began notifying owners on May 19. Owners can call the automaker at 800-488-9082 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, Vantage will provide parts and reimbursement to owners for repair facilities to replace the fuel tank gasket.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
