Ram parent company Stellantis is recalling more than 212,000 pickup trucks due to airbag issues. Affected trucks include model-year 2015-2020 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and chassis cabs, and model-year 2015-18 previous-generation Ram 1500 pickups, known as the Ram Classic. The current-generation 2019-2021 Ram 1500 is not included. The trucks could be equipped with faulty airbag inflators that were contaminated by moisture during the manufacturing process which may rupture, even without airbag deployment, potentially sending debris into the cabin, increasing the risk of injury.

An owner notification schedule or remedy has not yet been announced. Owners can call Stellantis at 800-853-1403 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.
