Approximately 2,900 model-year 2010 Jaguar XF sedans equipped with 4.2-liter engines are being recalled because the fuel tank outlet flange may crack, allowing fuel to leak and increasing the risk of a fire.
Jaguar will begin notifying owners on April 9. Owners can call Jaguar at 800-637-6837 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.
To remedy the issue, dealers will replace the fuel outlet flange.
Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
