More than 111,700 Land Rover Range Rover Sport and LR4 SUVs are being recalled due to a fire risk. Affected vehicles include model-year 2010-13 Range Rover Sports and model-year 2010-16 LR4s equipped with either Land Rover’s 3.0-liter V-6 or 5.0-liter V-8 engines. The fuel outlet flange mounted on the fuel tank may crack, possibly causing a fuel leak and increasing the risk of a fire.

Land Rover will begin notifying owners on Oct. 8. Owners can call the automaker at 800-637-6837 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To resolve the issue, dealers will replace the fuel outlet flange.

Vehicle manufacturers are legally required to repair any recalled issues or replace the defective part for free under the Highway Safety Act of 1970. If the dealership refuses to fix the problem or attempts to charge you for the repair, contact the manufacturer immediately.
